Wardrobes are an important part of our lives. They keep all of our clothes organised and together and make getting ready so much easier. But there are some wardrobes that have an even more important role.
Over the years there have been some pretty famous wardrobes on our screens. Let’s take a look at the most memorable ones, and what they represent in their films
The wardrobe of Narnia
Who could forget the wardrobe from Narnia? This wardrobe is so important to its story that it’s part of the film’s title.
A magical portal that lead to a fantastical world, the wardrobe of Narnia is a classic example of wardrobe in film. It’s the ultimate walk-in wardrobe, one where you keep walking all the way through and out of the other side! Into the woods of Narnia.
The wardrobe of Beauty and the Beast
Another wonderful wardrobe of film is this one. Here, the wardrobe has actually come to life and become a character who can even speak, sing and dance!
She’s simply named ‘Wardrobe’ and is the lady in waiting of the Beast’s castle. She becomes a comforting mother-like figure to Belle when she’s feeling down.
One thing’s for sure, we’d be pretty surprised if any of our fabulous sliding door wardrobes burst into song and started pirouetting.
The wardrobe of Sex and the City
It wouldn’t be right if we weren’t jealous of Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe or, as she calls it, her closet. Inside it’s almost as magical as the wardrobe from Narnia, packed with every designer item you could ever want.
It really is the wardrobe of dreams, as well as being a representation of her life through the decades. We’d give anything to give it a visit to see those clothes.

It’s not so much Cher’s actual wardrobe itself that’s renowned in Clueless, but the technology that she uses to navigate it.
Cher has an interactive system that tells her which of her clothes match and which don’t! Now that’s something we wish we had access to.
